The telephone lines are currently available 8.00am-12.00pm & 1.00pm-6.00pm Monday to Friday. Between the hours of 12.00pm-1.00pm patients who telephone the surgery and require urgent medical assistance will be directed to an Out of Hours provider.
On alternate Wednesdays and Thursdays from 12 noon, the telephone lines will be closed and will re-open the following morning at 8.00am. Patients who make contact with the practice will be directed to an Out of Hours provider.
Due to patient feedback regarding wait times when phoning through to the practice, we have implemented a call back service on our phone lines. If you wish to use this service, please press option 0 (zero) when prompted and ensure you await further instructions confirming the number you wish to receive the call back before ending the call. When you reach position 1 in the queue, you will receive a call from the practice, please note this does not guarantee you an appointment it purely holds your position in the queue.
As we are a training practice, we regularly have registrar doctors in post. We also teach medical students throughout the year please note when calling for an appointment you may be offered an appointment with one of our Medical Students. You will be asked for your consent prior to any consultation or procedure involving the medical students and if the registrar needs to record your consultation for exam purposes. These consultations are overseen by one of the GP/ANP Partners.
If you would like to arrange an appointment, please telephone the surgery at 8.00am Monday to Friday. One of our trained Care Navigators will sign post you to the most appropriate appointment with a clinician or other services
The majority of appointments will be telephone triaged by a clinician who will arrange a face to face appointment if deemed appropriate.
You may be advised that your condition can be referred and assessed by a community pharmacy. Our Care Navigators can refer you to the correct service for your condition:
GP Community Pharmacy Consultation Service –. This service ensures that patients receive the right support by offering expert clinical advice, direct you to an over the counter medicine, or where indicated refer you back to your GP.
Pharmacy First – Pharmacy First will enable community pharmacists to supply prescription-only medicines, including antibiotics and antivirals where clinically appropriate, to treat seven common health conditions without the need to visit a GP.
What are the seven common conditions?
If you would like to arrange an appointment, please telephone after 10.30am
If you require an interpreter, please inform us at the time of making the appointment.
Chaperones are available upon clinician or patient request Chaperone Protocol
Hollyns Health and Wellbeing are part of the enhanced access service which provides GP, ANP, Nurse, Health Care Assistant, First Contact Physiotherapy, Mental Health Services, Grief & Loss Counselling appointments at location hubs across Bradford. Our Care Navigators may offer you an appointment within our Bradford Enhanced Access service. These appointments are outside of usual surgery opening hours (evenings and weekends).
More information about appointments with the extended access service
The service is run by Bradford Care Alliance, which represents all GP practices in the Bradford area. Medical appointments are with GPs and other healthcare staff who work in the area; so your appointment may not be with a clinician from this practice.
To use the service we will ask for your consent to share your medical record and our reception staff will explain what this means and why it is necessary. Click here for further details of the services and to learn more about how and why we process your information.
We offer a service where we can confirm appointments and test results via text messaging. In order to do this you need to consent to the SMS text messaging service. It will be your responsibility to keep the practice informed of your up to date mobile telephone number. If you do not consent into this service then test results can be obtained by telephoning the surgery after 1pm.
You have the right as a patient to express a preference of clinician and where possible we will always endeavour to accommodate this. However, there may be times where we advise for you to see a different clinician, either due to a change in hours or due to staff leave.
If you are unable to attend an appointment, please inform us with plenty of time so that we may offer this appointment to another patient. If you fail to attend 3 times in any 6 month period we may contact you to inform you that any further non attendance may result in your removal from our practice list.
To cancel an appointment, you can do this by texting your name, DOB & appointment details to 07596 506843, please note this mobile number is for cancelling appointments only. Any other requests will not be dealt with.
